This version of safety vest meets ANSI 207-2006 First Responder Public Service Safety Vests; as well as, ANSI 107-2004 Class 2 regulations for a safety vest. This first responder safety vest is recommended when being used in high traffic areas. The McKinney Safety Vests are a nickname given to this type of First Responders Safety Vests. It was designed by a fire chief in McKinney Texas and the style has been adopted by many fire departments around the country. The vests are constructed with a soft and flexible material for all day comfort. The vests are built with a 5 point Velcro tear away design and also come with microphone tabs on the top left and right of the vest. The stripes are built with 2 layers of striping for additional visibility. The wider high visibility stripe is 4.5 inches and the inside has 2 reflective 1 inch stripes on either side. The vests are sized in standard sizes which fits Med-3X sizes and a larger size that fits 4X + sizes. Finally, the vests have one outside pocket on the lower left hand side. Material can be washed. Comes standard with a VELCRO brand front but can be ordered for the same costs with a Zipper front enclosure (12 minimum). Comes with 2 vertical bands and 1 horizontal band of 4.5" reflective material and (2) one inch reflective silver stripes. Made in USA. Flame Retardant Material FR NFPA 701. Note: This safety vests is only available in a mesh material at this time.

Now you see me!
It was a tossup between this vest and the one with the yellow background with orange stripes, but I needed to get one. It took a near miss with a truck that was determined to invade my personal space while out walking one evening to decide that safety at work can extend to safety outside of work. I did research on the various vests on the market and found that the class two vests had what I was looking for. Sufficient visibility in a 55 plus mile per hour environment, and boy does this vest do just that. I now wonder if I might find that drivers are attracted to me like a moth to a flame.
Local security noticed my vest and decided to do a test to see just how far away my new `beaconess' extended. And, the determination was very far.
Surprisingly far!
I suppose if NATO were launching laser guided missiles then this vests would not be the one to wear, but if visibility is your goal then this vest is the one I would wear.
This vest is also very comfortable with a soft cloth like feel. I purchased the size that claimed it fit medium to 3XL. The vest does that with Velcro straps at the waist. The vest is not long and it stops just above the waist, so it would be perfect for cycling sports.
I especially like the tear away feature, and I'm already planning bedroom games with this vest as the main costume. If you prefer a more martial artist take then... the opponents can grab you by the vest, but they can't control you with it.
Well, I'm planning to purchase the other vest (the yellow with the orange stripes) just so I can change up and keep people guessing.
