Rejoice Geeks! I purchased this Essential Jacket from SeV and am very happy with it. The product is a solid built product and I can see the care that went into the design of each of the pockets. I love the cards in the pockets that tell you what each pocket was designed for and what they suggest go into it. The flaps have magnetic closures and heavy duty zippers. The sleeves come off for that vest look, and they are made plenty large to allow you to keep all those gadgets in the coat without being able to zip it up. It's perfect for plane travel too. The pockets are built rugged and will not rip or tear out easily. The Cons are the price, a bit expensive, even if it's a specialty item. I love this jacket I'm a big fan of all of the Scottevest products, and this jacket in particular. I purchased a XXL orange Essentials jacket a couple of months ago, and it has been in heavy use since. There's another review here that mentions flimsy build quality. I can't really agree with that. Its a lightweight jacket, not a heavy winter jacket. Just about all of the pockets are useful and well placed (My only caveat is the ClearTouch pockets for touchscreen usage... I think its a little awkward to see and input on the screen at the same time). I've zipped off the sleeves to create a Travelvest (replacing the vest I use from the 5.0 Fleece, which can be warm on a flight (Much better used on the surprisingly cold days in my new hometown). I also can't agree with the statement about customer service. I've had to return a couple of items for size and color, and the staff at SeV has been absolutely brilliant to work with. Definitely recommend this lightweight multi-use jacket! Don't even waste your time with this jacket I gave this jacket a month's worth of use, only to find it on the verge of falling apart. Sure, it's got a lot of great pockets and in theory, this stuff would work. I had ample enough room to put everything I'd need (and then some) for a trip or a day out on the town, but the jacket's construction just felt flimsy and that I was in danger of tearing the jacket. Six weeks into wearing the jacket, there were minor tears along the seams (compare and contrast this to other jackets who have lasted longer and been more tortured who are still in great shape.) Pros: Good idea. Cons: Flimsy material, poor craftmanship and even worse customer service.
